Vintage Mid-Century c1950's English "Smiths" Chiming Mantel Clock with Silence. Intage mid-century c1950's English "Smiths" chiming mantel clock with silence. This is in full working order. The clock has a beautiful.

Oak body with swooping sides and protruding feet. The oak has a medium/dark brown coloured finish with a darker visible grain and a soft subtle shine. The face is circular in shape with a white coloured metal chapter ring, black.

Numerals and gold coloured hands. The face is protected by a convex glass door with a brass bezel.

The glass is in excellent condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. To the rear there is access to the mechanism chamber. This particular clock winds from the rear not from the front.

The silence lever is the silver lever to the left of the. This chimes (on a coil) on the hour (chiming the numbers of hours) and on the half hour (once). This comes complete with its floating balance pendulum and key. The clock was cleaned and serviced on the 18th August 2023. If you have any questions please let me know.
